What is the difference between commercial brand soaps and natural handmade soaps?

Commercial soap sold in stores is often made with chemical detergents, hardeners and synthetic lathering agents. Some of these ingredients can be drying or irritating on the skin. On the other hand, natural handmade soap created with oils, liquid and lye does not contain these harsh ingredients. Handmade soap also contains glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air to the skin. It’s produced naturally during the soap making process. It’s one of the things that make handmade soap so amazing! Some commercial soaps remove the glycerin from the bars and sell it to make lotions and creams. Without glycerin, commercially prepared soap isn’t nearly as skin loving, and can leave the skin feeling dry.
What are the benefits of using natural handmade soap?

100% Pure Essential Oils: Packed with antibacterial, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and other health-promoting properties, pure essential oils cleanses the skin while adding valuable nutrients.

Phthalate Free Fragrance Oils: Phthalates are a group of chemicals used in products like toys, detergents, nail polish, and hair spray. They’re used to make products more flexible and harder to break. We strive for the best, so our fragrance oils are free from this harsh chemical!

Non-Detergent: Detergent soaps are a cosmetic cleanse that typically mask odor more than clean. They often irritate and dehydrate the skin.

PH Levels: Important for maintaining the skin’s natural barrier, the pH is around 9-10 for Natural Bar Soap. That level is naturally alkaline, making the soap a gentler and a more effective cleanser. The inclusion of Coconut Oil in our soap nourishes and moisturizes to maintain the skin’s natural pH levels.

Just Say “No” To Harsh Chemicals: Antibacterial “soap” typically contains triclosan, along with numerous other harmful chemicals (including parabens, petrochemicals, and sodium laureth sulphate). Also, it doesn’t actually kill more germs than natural soap!

Animal Friends: Instead of eliciting required animal testing because of the chemicals used in OTC “soap,” our products are entirely cruelty-free. CBT never produces products that we haven’t personally tested on our own human bodies!

Rich Lather: Creamy and silky, nature’s ingredients make for much richer suds than synthetics used in OTC “ soap.”

Silkier Skin: The cold process soap method keeps all of the nourishing ingredients intact which help prevent dry, itchy skin while actively moisturizing the skin.
How are your products considered "All Natural/ Plant-Based"?

We select the finest natural ingredients with the use of plant oils, plant butters, clays, botanicals, minerals, pure essential oils, vegan skin safe colorants, and many other plant-based skin nourishing ingredients. All of our products are cruelty-free as our ingredients do not contain any animal products and are not tested on any animals. Our palm oil is purchased from a sustainable source that does not contribute to deforestation. We use biodegradable shipping supplies and have reduce our use of plastic by 70%. We are on our way to being more green each day!

Are your products safe for pregnant women, babies or someone with extremely sensitive skin?

Although our products are all natural, some people have allergies to certain plants, trees, nuts, etc.
Some essential oils may be harmful to pregnant women. We encourage all customers to consult with their physician before use.
